Blacksmith Arms , Llanmaes

Every Monday, there is a Pub quiz night at the Blacksmith Arms.  in Llanmaes.  They use the opportunity to raise money for charitable causes and tonight I was presented with a cheque for £300.  This is an amazing gift for which we are very grateful and will go a long way to achieve our goals of helping Head and Neck cancer patients.

Thank you so much.

Using Faceup funds

We have been asked by the Head and Neck team in Cwm Taf to fund a device to aid patients who have been treated for Laryngeal Cancer.

The Expiratory Muscle Strength trainer has been found to be an essential part in the rehabilitation of these patients but unfortunately it appears they are not available under the NHS.

Faceup is therefore delighted to be able to purchase these for the Head and Neck patients.

Vera Alexander

It is with sadness, that I let you know that our friend Vera has passed away.  She was a wonderful person who always had a smile and above all a positive personality.  She will be sadly missed.

Her grandsons – Rhys and Owen raised over £3544 for her memory by running the London Marathon and we are eternally grateful for that effort.

Cardiff Half Marathon 2024 – runners

I am pleased to say that all the places have now been taken for this event.  We therefore have 10 runners who are going to use this event to fund raise for Faceup .  Each one has set up a Just giving site so please find time to go onto the site and sponsor one – or more of them.  All proceeds will be given to Faceup .  The runners are :

Dafydd Fardy
Grace Hughes
Corey Webber
Jeremy Hayes
Amanda Godoi
Grace Clancey
Leah Webb
Rob Adams
Mali Prydderch
Harri Hayes

We cannot thank them enough for running for us
