Here are some pics from the recent Mouth Cancer Awareness stall held on the Concourse at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff on Wednesday 16th November 2016 by the Head and neck cancer dietitians and Dental nurses from Smile. The stall aimed to show patients, staff members and other members of the public how important it is the be aware of the signs of mouth cancer and prevention.
Thank you to all those who attended and supported us on the day.
A lovely time had by all at one of our support groups in 2016. We had Lynette Webbe who is a local Holistic Laughter Therapist attend one of our support groups this year, to show us the importance of laughter in health and wellbeing. We all had a good laugh and were able to shake off the cobwebbs 🙂 Thank you to all who attended.

A big thank you to Natwest Bank who kindly adopted Faceup Cymru as their local charity for six months. Through various fundraising activities they have managed to raise an impressive £3000 in total which has enabled us to buy the much needed electrolarynx.
Our thanks to them and their staff for their support.

Dear All,
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have been involved in raising funds for FaceUp as it has allowed us to buy electrolarynxes for some of our patients who have had a laryngectomy.
This surgery involves removal of the voice box. The electrolarynx is a communication aid that allows that person to have a voice again so that they can communicate with their friends and family.
Without the fundraising efforts of those supporting FaceUp it would have not been possible to provide this life enhancing equipment to these patients.

After a really successful charity Halloween party last year, the Penarth Conservative club have agreed to host another fancy dress party on the 29th October from 7:30 till midnight.
Fancy dress is optional !
Lilly Beau and co singers will be entertaining the guests and there will be a disco and raffle.
Tickets are only £7 per person and are available from the club or pay on the door.

Mike is running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October for Faceup Cymru.
Mike has recently taking up running, while trying to get fit for his Wedding. He joined Richard Rees’ running club in Caerphilly and now regularly attends Sunday running club along with different ability runners. His aim is to complete two 10k runs (Cardiff and Swansea) in the run up to the Cardiff Half marathon.

Chris Cowcher has entered the Bournemouth Marathon (2nd October 2016) and would like to fundraise for Faceup Cymru over the summer and “ultimately help promote the fantastic work you do”.
